DEHN is seeking a Head of Global Engineering Services (m/f/d) to lead and unify our international engineering services organization. In this role, you will own both the commercial project management and the technical engineering delivery — bringing together teams across South Africa, India, and Germany into one cohesive, scalable organization, deeply embedded in our global Sales structure and oriented around customer success and hardware pull-through.
What we mean by Engineering Services:
Our engineering services are specialized technical services based primarily on calculations — including lightning and surge protection design, grounding studies, protection coordination, cathodic protection, pipeline interference, and EMC/EMI analysis — and in selected cases on-site measurement campaigns. This is not a field service or maintenance role.

Reporting to: Director Global Knowledge & Support
Your tasks.
- Lead and develop the Global Engineering Services organization end-to-end — owning both commercial project management and technical engineering delivery, with commercial and budget responsibility.
- Unify and coordinate engineering teams across South Africa, India, and Germany — building one globally integrated team that operates to a common standard while executing locally.
- Integrate Engineering Services into the Sales organization: align capacity with market demand, support go-to-market strategies, and drive hardware pull-through as a shared commercial objective.
- Own the full project lifecycle — from scoping and commercial offer to engineering execution and customer delivery — ensuring quality, timeliness, and profitability.
- Manage utilization and delivery performance across hubs, with a focus on billable capacity, first-time-right delivery, and turnaround time.
- Ensure technical excellence across the full calculation-based service spectrum — including lightning protection design, grounding, surge protection, cathodic protection, pipeline interference, and EMC/EMI studies.
- Develop the global service delivery model: standardize processes, leverage cost-effective delivery hubs (India, South Africa), and build scalable capacity aligned with business growth.
- Contribute to the global service portfolio: identify new service opportunities, support productization of engineering services, and develop the business model for emerging areas such as IoT-related field services.
- Build and develop engineering talent: attract, retain, and grow a high-performing international team through coaching, capability development, and knowledge-sharing across hubs.
- Support the development of global training content together with the Global Academy, leveraging engineering expertise as a scalable knowledge asset.
Your experiences and competencies.
- Proven experience leading engineering service organizations end-to-end — covering both commercial project management and technical delivery, ideally across multiple geographies.
- Sound technical background in electrical engineering, with expertise in at least one of the following: lightning and surge protection, grounding systems, cathodic protection, pipeline interference, or EMC/EMI analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop international, cross-functional engineering teams — including experience managing distributed teams across time zones and cultures.
- Experience integrating engineering services into a commercial organization: understanding of demand-driven capacity planning, billable utilization, and service-based business models.
- Strategic thinking combined with operational execution — able to define direction and drive implementation.
- Strong alignment with Sales and commercial functions: able to translate technical capabilities into market-relevant service offerings.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — able to engage engineering teams, sales organizations, and senior leadership equally effectively.
- Intercultural competence and genuine experience in international collaboration, particularly across European, African, and Asian contexts.
- Expertise in designing and optimizing engineering and project management processes in an international framework.
